Hollywood, CA (ContentDesk) February 5, 2004?-Zakk Wylde graces the cover of Guitar Player Magazine's March 2004 issue. This cover is not only a landmark issue for Guitar Player Magazine, but also a landmark for Zakk Wylde, both personally and professionally. "I have always wanted to be on the cover of Guitar Player Magazine since I was a kid," explains Wylde. "Back in the day, they were the only guitar magazine. I saw all my heroes on the cover and I still own those magazines to this day.
Guitar Player Magazine always has the real-deal serious players on the cover. It is an honor for me to be considered a player of the same caliber as my heroes."The first cover, featuring Zakk Wylde, was designed by award-winning Pentagram Design. Guitar Player Magazine now touts a bold new look and appeal. "We needed to have the perfect cover for this transition. Zakk was the obvious choice for us," states Michael Molenda, Editor and Chief of Guitar Player Magazine.
"Zakk appeals to everyone. The youth love him for his style of music he plays and our core readers respect him for being the unbelievable technician that he is. He marries both sides perfectly."
This commemorative issue is available on newsstands February 3, 2004..
Car Keys Locked Inside
While backing out of your garage or even just your driveway this morning, you surely managed to leave some scratches on your car. Not only that but after a couple of miles, you seemed to have ran out of gas. Luckily, you were near a gasoline station and were able to fill up your fuel tank.
However, it seems luck has fled from your side for the day. After filling up, you were able to drive for some distance when a tire of your car went flat.
Of course, you had to change the tire yourself. And while you were at it, you noticed that the hubcap you purchased along with some Pontiac auto parts seemed to have fallen somewhere between your current location and your garage. Because you were already late for your work, you hurriedly grabbed your things and rushed out to catch the elevator.
Tough luck. Now that you need to use your car to drive back home, you just realized that in your hurry,...
Getting Unexpected Profits With a Car Wash Fundraiser
Instead of wasting lots of precious time on thinking what's the best fundraising idea, go with what works. Setting up a car wash fundraiser may not be the most original thing to do, but it has always proven to bring great results. As long as you settle your team on a high traffic area and generate a sound attention-capturing system, the rest practically takes care of itself. Unlike complicated fundraiser event ideas, a car wash is a simple concept to apply. However, you still need some minimum planning.
First things first.
Design or have someone design a simple straight to the point flyer that includes the following:
- Purpose of your fundraising group
- Price of the car wash
- Location and time
- Any other information that relates to your cause
In order for you and your team to be extra successful with your car wash fundraiser, you have to squeeze everything you can out of it. For example, while the car washing...

Old Time Radio on your MP3 Player
For those of us that are fans of Old Time Radio (OTR), until recently there were very few options to listen to these classic programs. To listen to them, you would have to use a PC or laptop. This was not very portable or convenient. Personally, I like to listen to the shows at night before I go to sleep, but my computer is nowhere near my bedroom. With the recent proliferation of CD and memory based MP3 players, a new option has emerged to listen to our favorite classical radio programs. These tiny devices can not only be used to listen to music, but can now be used to listen to Old Time Radio shows.
As many of the OTR shows are recorded at low bit rates and frequencies, you can typically load several hundred hours of shows onto a single CD. If you are using a memory based MP3 player, even a 64 mb player will hold several half-hour shows.Of course, not everything is perfect with OTR shows. As I mentioned earlier, because of the age of these programs (poor recording quality, mono...
